A kid that is 16-year-old been arrested on suspicion of murder after two teens had been fatally stabbed just a mile apart in south-east London.

Officers had been called at about 17:10 GMT on to reports people was indeed injured in Sewell Road, Abbey Wood, and Titmuss Avenue in Thamesmead saturday.

Regardless of the attendance of police and paramedics, two males which are 16-year-old pronounced dead.

They’ve been named as Kearne Solanke and Charlie Bartolo.

The victims’ families are being supported by specialist officers, police stated.

The MP that is local Oppong-Asare, told BBC Radio London the community had been “in an overwhelming number of shock”.

“Our focus needs to be on the families at this time, because they attempt to come to terms with it. Some constituents have now been had by me contact me that are concerned, and also some who would like to provide help.

“It’s heart breaking lives were lost, this will be a community that is breathtaking. This does not happen for a foundation that is day-to-day. People must not be frightened.

“Agencies and organisations work very hard but we’re plainly perhaps not doing sufficient,” the Labour MP for Erith and Thamesmead included.

“I do not want to be within the position of getting to comment on the death of someone else that is young.

“We all have to come together and do what’s best for the community.”

Following the announcement associated with the arrest, Det Ch Insp Kate Blackburn said in a declaration: “this can be a good development in what is a complex and investigation that is fast-moving. Charlie and Kearne’s families were informed.

“Our investigation is ongoing and we continue to allure for the general public’s assistance even as we develop a image of what happened on night saturday.

“you think it could be, please come forward. when you have information, regardless of how insignificant”

Talking at one of the crime scenes earlier, Det Supt Richard McDonagh, stated: “Homicide colleagues are investigating as they are dealing with the two murders as connected.

“I’m able to ensure everyone affected by these murders that skilled detectives works tirelessly to find out what happened and offer answers to the victims that are young families.”

He added: “Officers are specially keen to hear from anybody who might have seen a dark-coloured SUV or 4×4 type with distinctive roof that is silver in the areas around Sewell path or Titmuss Avenue into the days prior to the murders.”
